Crisis Prevention and Management for Caregivers

Crisis Prevention and Management for Caregivers

Interactive virtual workshop

This educational session will teach you how to plan to prevent a crisis in your home and ways to manage before, during and after a crisis has occurred.

This program is based on the principles of Safe Management Group® (SMG) which were developed by a team of psychologists, behaviour analysts/therapists and physical intervention specialists.

  • Safe Management Group’s Crisis Intervention Training program uses evidence-based practices and techniques

  • This education series will be delivered by a clinician that is an SMG-trained trainer.

  • Physical Intervention techniques will not be taught.

  • No certification is offered for this series.

This session will help you learn how to:

  • Assess risk and prepare themselves, their children and their environment to decrease risk and increase safety.

  • Build stronger relationships with your child and family members

  • Understand your child’s behaviour and how to look for possible triggers

  • Assess the development of an aggressive situation in terms of four phases and how to incorporate these findings into an understandable “escalation continuum”
