Life has been anything but normal this spring and the team here at Lake Ridge Community Support Services sincerely hope that our clients and their families are in good health. We are happy to inform everyone that as of July 6, we are resuming in-person service at our Lake Ridge locations only.  We are not ready to resume in-home or community setting service just yet. 

 
While many things have changed since the last time we provided in-person service, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to the health and safety of our clients and our team.
 

Our management team and staff have and will continue to develop our plan to resume services safely using the information provided by the Ministry of Health and Durham Region Public Health Department.  While many things have changed since the last time we provided in-person service, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to the health and safety of our clients and our team.

As an Agency we have updated our infection control standard protocols at our service locations in order to keep everyone protected during this pandemic and in the future.  When we see our clients in-person again to resume service, things will be a little different. Here are some of the new protocols we have put in place to ensure a safe return to in-person services.

  • Clients and their caregivers will be asked to wait outside our office or in their car. We will call them in at their scheduled time of your appointment.

  • We will ask some screening questions upon arrival for service before anyone may enter our location.

  • We will ask that all visitors to our offices wear a mask to their appointments.  We will provide masks as well. 

  • We have hand sanitizer at our entrance and we will ask that it be used it when entering our locations.

  • We will be taking each visitor’s temperature upon entering our location to ensure anyone entering does not have a fever. 

  • Our waiting room, at 900 Hopkins Street, will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect and seating is limited for those that may require it. 

  • Appointments will be staggered to allow for physical distancing between clients and employees. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling appointments, but it will also reduce the number of people in the reception area at any one time.  Arriving on-time to appointments will be extremely important.

  • Our staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during appointments. This is to help reduce exposure and transmission of COVID-19.  Some PPE you will see our staff wearing will include: masks, gowns, face shield, and gloves.

  • Some of our service spaces will also have acrylic barriers available as appropriate.

All these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for our clients, caregivers, guests and our team.
