Our COVID-19 Lockdown Response

The health and safety of staff and clients is a top concern for Lake Ridge Community Support Services. COVID-19 has continued to circulate in our community and province. As such, ongoing measures to control the spread and protect the people of Ontario are being implemented. Safety and government direction continue to guide the decisions Lake Ridge makes. We, as an agency, have a responsibility to our clients, families and staff to respond to the pandemic on a daily basis.
As announced today by our provincial government, additional measures are being put in place at 12:01am on December 26th, 2020. Those measures include a provincial lockdown, including Durham Region, until January 22nd, 2021. Elementary schools will be moving to virtual learning for the week of January 4th and potentially returning to in-person learning on January 11th. High schools will be learning virtually until January 22nd, 2021.
As safety and government direction guide the decisions Lake Ridge makes, we will be temporarily suspending our in-person service and offering virtual service effective Monday January 4, 2021. As an agency, we have a responsibility to our clients and staff to do our part to respond to the situation. At this time we hope we can resume our in-person services the week of January 11th, 2021, if possible. We will confirm our date to return to in-person services during the week of January 4th, once further information is available about provincial recommendations and guidelines.
Employers, employees, clients and caregivers all have important roles to play in taking steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Such measures include ongoing requirements to practice physical distancing, wearing face masks and increased screening for signs, symptoms and risk factors for COVID-19. Please follow the guidelines outlined on the provincial website (Ontario Framework).
We appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this unpredictable and uncertain time. We know we will continue to see changes with COVID-19 during the winter months. We are continuing to be safe, flexible and nimble with all our clients, caregivers, families and guests in responding to the continuously changing environment to keep everyone safe.
