Ontario Autism Program Update - January 24, 2020
January 24, 2020 - WHITBY
Recent information released by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services brings some important news to those waiting to find out what will happen once their child’s existing behaviour plans finish.
We encourage you to check out updates provided on the OAP website here: https://www.ontario.ca/page/ontario-autism-program#section-5
The information provided by the OAP highlight is that there will be no gaps in service for current clients. Clients with existing behaviour plans can be extended another 6 months and beyond, based on clinical recommendations until the OAP’s new Core Services are in place.
The other piece of information is that any family currently receiving a childhood budget will be eligible for the one-time funding at the expiry of their current childhood budget.
Our team is committed to sharing information as it becomes available and working through our understanding of the impact and what the information means to our clients and our community.
